Disposable vape brands and flavors, explained

Every product named on this page lacks FDA authorization. The legal route to market for an e-cigarette is a Premarket Tobacco Product Application resulting in a marketing granted order, and roughly 45 products across five brands — Vuse, NJOY, Logic, JUUL and Glas — hold one. Geek Bar, RAZ, Mr Fog and Foger do not appear among them.

The practical consequences are worth stating plainly. Nobody has verified the ingredient list. Nobody has tested the aerosol for carbonyls or heavy metals from the coil and solder. Nobody has confirmed that a device labeled 5 percent contains 5 percent. Nobody has assessed the flavor chemicals for inhalation safety, as opposed to the food safety that lets them be eaten.

Counterfeiting compounds this. The most popular lines are the most copied, and a counterfeit is a product with no accountable manufacturer at all. Authentication codes printed on genuine packaging are themselves routinely faked.

Puff counts are manufacturer claims produced under the manufacturer's own test conditions — a specified puff duration and power draw that rarely matches real use. Treat them as relative indicators of capacity between devices from the same brand, not as a number you will personally achieve.

Several states operate product directories restricting sales to listed products, and several restrict flavored e-cigarettes outright. A brand being available near you tells you about local enforcement, not about legality.

The lineups look chaotic until you notice they are built from a small set of modifiers applied to a fruit or candy base. Once you can read the grammar, several hundred names collapse into a few dozen concepts.

'Ice' means a cooling agent has been added — historically menthol, increasingly a synthetic coolant such as WS-23 that produces cold sensation without menthol taste. This matters legally: in states whose flavor restrictions exempt menthol but not synthetic coolants, or vice versa, the distinction decides whether a product may be sold.

'Frozen' and 'Polar' are generally stronger cooling than 'Ice' from the same brand, though there is no standard and the intensity is not comparable across brands.

'Sour' indicates added acid, usually malic or citric, mimicking sour candy. 'B-Pop', 'Blow Pop' and 'Rancher' reference specific American candy formats. 'Savers', 'Gummy', 'Taffy' and 'Slush' work the same way.

'Clear' means unflavored or near-unflavored. It exists largely as a compliance product for jurisdictions restricting characterizing flavors, and appears in most modern lineups for exactly that reason.

Zero-nicotine variants carry the same flavor name with a '0%' or 'Zero Nic' designation. They are still regulated tobacco products if sold as such, still age-restricted to 21, and still unauthorized.

Geek Bar is the highest-volume disposable brand in the US market and has the largest published flavor library of the four. The Pulse line introduced a dual-mode design — a regular mode and a higher-power 'pulse' mode that roughly halves the effective puff count — alongside a screen showing battery and e-liquid level.

The Pulse 15K is the flagship: a claimed 15,000 puffs in regular mode or around 7,500 in pulse mode, roughly 16 mL of e-liquid, a 700 mAh rechargeable battery, dual mesh coil, and 5 percent or 0 percent nicotine. The Pulse X raises the claim to 25,000 puffs on about 18 mL. Skyview and Meloso are separate device lines with their own lineups.

The lists below are the published flavor names for each device line. Lineups rotate continuously — flavors are discontinued, renamed and reissued as limited editions — so treat this as a snapshot rather than a permanent catalogue.

RAZ built its lineup around the TN9000, a roughly 9,000-puff device, and later extended most of the flavor library across higher-capacity models including the DC25000 and LTX lines. Because flavors run across devices rather than being device-exclusive, the same name generally means the same liquid in a larger reservoir.

The Dream Edition is the exception: four flavors originally exclusive to the TN9000, named rather than described — Tiffany is kiwi-watermelon, Ruby is cherry-strawberry-raspberry, Vicky is pink lemonade-raspberry, and Violet is grape-strawberry. Naming a flavor after a person rather than its ingredients is a deliberate marketing move and worth noticing.

RAZ also publishes a zero-nicotine range covering a subset of the main lineup, and 'Clear Tobacco' as its unflavored-adjacent compliance option.

Mr Fog runs two main current lines. The Switch SW15000 claims 15,000 puffs on about 12 mL, with dual mesh coils, an Eco and Boost wattage toggle, a smart screen, child lock and USB-C charging. The Max Air MA8500 is the smaller 8,500-puff device, notable for a lineup built almost entirely on 'Double' names denoting intensified single-note flavors rather than blends.

Foger's Switch Pro uses a replaceable-pod architecture — a reusable battery with 30,000-puff pods — which sits between the disposable and pod-system categories and complicates which regulatory bucket it falls into. Its lineup runs to over forty flavors, of which the widely listed ones appear below.

Both brands, like the others here, hold no FDA authorization.

The specification arms race in this category is real and fast. A 2019 disposable held under 2 mL and claimed a few hundred puffs; current flagships hold ten times that and claim tens of thousands. Capacity, not chemistry, is what has changed most.

One consequence deserves attention. A rechargeable disposable is a contradiction that exists for regulatory and cost reasons rather than engineering ones: the battery outlasts a single charge because the reservoir got so large, so a USB-C port was added to a device still designed to be thrown away. The result is a lithium cell in landfill for every unit sold, and no US federal take-back scheme covers them.
